Statement of Need

On March 10, 2010 - 7 year old Carlos from Norwalk, California hides in a bathroom and Dials 9-1-1 during a home invasion. "There's some guy ... they're going to kill my mom and dad," the boy told 9-1-1. "Can you come really fast? Please! Please!" he cries before being discovered by the robbers. The robbers asked the child who he was talking to and when he responded "9-1-1" the 3 intruders ran out without injuring anybody or stealing a single item. Pat Maxwell of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department states, "If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically." - New York Times.
